“Inspire Inveraray and The Inveraray Community Council are overjoyed to announce that the community now own the Historic Inveraray Pier”

The pier in Inveraray has been privately owned for over 20 years and in the past 5 years it has been closed to the public. The Inveraray community have now brought the pier back into community ownership. The remedial works will commence in the autumn and soon allow the public to enjoy this famous landmark once again. Inveraray Community Council and Inspire Inveraray thank you for all your support in contributing to The Inveraray Pier Fund. Without doubt future contributions will be most welcome for ongoing maintenance.

Situated at the northern end of Loch Fyne the Royal Burgh of Inveraray overlooks the loch with its deep waters, sheltered bay and superb onshore facilities. The pier is the seaway into Inveraray from the beautiful waters of Loch Fyne and the town is a gateway to the Highlands & Islands providing an excellent base for day touring and placed within easy access south to the Mull of Kintyre; Oban on the west coast with access to the Islands; north to Glencoe and Fort William and south-east to Loch Lomond and Glasgow.

Follow the pages of the web site to keep up to date with the progress of the pier development and restoration work bringing Inverary Pier back to life for all residents and visitors to the town.

We first want to thank everyone who came to our Open Meeting in August to ask questions, share ideas, and celebrate the momentous occasion of the Community Purchase of our beloved Inveraray Pier. If you missed the Open Meeting and would like a copy of the presentation or business plan we shared on the night, please email us at admin@inspireinveraray.scot.

The restoration work has now started on the the Pier which will remain closed to pedestrian and marine traffic through the winter to allow D.A. MacDonald (Contractors)Ltd to work quickly and safely. with plans to open the Stone Pier to the public in April!

For the most up-to-date news about The Pier, Tide Levels, and On-shore Facilities are available on the web site.

The Inspire Inveraray Board of Trustees and our Pier Development Officer are now looking toward continuing the restoration of the Pier through Phase 2 Operations, where we will address the Timber Pier. We are now beginning the fundraising process for Phase 2, with the goal of raising £25,000 in individual gifts and £75,000 in corporate and grants-based funding.
