Action Plan
A grant application to Argyll and Bute Council was successful for the Inveraray Community Action Plan and DWS Consultants were commissioned as consultants. The Action Plan is important because it contains the local community’s vision for Inveraray and the priority activities that could turn their vision into a reality. The plan considers opportunities in four areas Business and Commerce, Infrastructure and Environment, Health and Wellbeing, Community Cohesion and Pride. The Action Plan is imperative for all grant application for any projects. The action plan 2022 is now complete, with the pier being identified as a priority project. Option to Purchase Agreement
The Option to Purchase agreement has been signed by all parties.

Grant applications
A grant has been awarded from the Scottish Land Fund towards the following activities:

Structural Surveyors have been appointed, they have surveyed the pier and are working on the report and recommendations.

The Valuation Survey has been completed. The pier valuation was £55,000 which is good news as an application will be submitted in November to the Scottish Land Fund for 95% of the purchase valuation.

A funding application has been submitted to Garfield Weston for £25,000 towards the purchase and restoration costs.

An application has been submitted for Hugh Fraser foundation for £20,000 towards the purchase and restoration costs.

An application is underway for the ‘Levelling up Bid’.

Business Plan
A business plan is complete, and we have been liaising with InspireAlba who are offering support and advice to ensure the Pier is cost effective.

Work on Pier
With the generous help from D A Macdonald some repairs are underway, and volunteers helped with the weeding and seaweed clearing, which has made an aesthetic improvement to the Pier and shows the support from locals.

Collection Boxes
There are collection boxes in various shops throughout the town which are collected regularly.

The Important Part – The Pier Funds Total
Through fundraising and various events and fantastic support from the community further afield, the total fund for purchase of the pier is £23,862.
